What
would we know without God’s revelation of Himself in the Bible? “Some type of vibration life force” is how a
young man named Eric described his beliefs in this video clip. He has the general belief in a Creator that
comes from observing God’s creation, and a general knowledge of good and evil
that comes with every person’s God-given conscience, but he has chosen to
reject God’s right to rule in his life, to declare Who He is and what he is
about. Eric is left only with his
imagination and ability to come up with some very spiritual-sounding jargon. This is just a short clip from the beginning
of a conversation that lasted an hour and a half; in it I was able to help Eric
clarify some of the choices he has made in regards to God’s place in his life;
help clear up many of his false ideas about the Bible and Christianity; and lay
very clearly the choices and consequences that are before him. Eric values being open-minded and discussing
new ideas, so he was very receptive to all this but in the end he stuck to his
belief that God has no right to be God over his life in favor of his own muddled
and confused spiritual theories. I am posting this not to look down on Eric but
to ask people to pray for him, to pray for more laborers for the harvest, to
challenge people to be a part of the answer to that prayer, and maybe for us
believers to be reminded of where we would be without the clear teachings of
